This watercolour was done in the afternoon, when the fishermen had returned with their catch and the boats and people were at rest in the heat. I sat in the shade of the trees on the almost deserted beach, enjoying the quiet lapping of the waves. The local children told me that the boat I was painting was called a “catboat”.
